At these difficult times, UWU Library is taking all efforts to try and continue to play our part in supporting our users through this initiative. This resource guide will help you find remote access to virtual library resources while the physical library is closed.

The content is constantly changing as many of resource suppliers & publishers continually expand access to, and provide trials and short-term contracts for, resources during the current COVID19 situation. The guide has been published to keep UWU community up to date with currently expanded resources and library services and to help support online teaching, learning and research activities.

Remote Access for Journal Databases

You must log in with your Wi-Fi User Name & Password to access these Journal Databases.

Emerald Contains nearly 200 journals and subjects include Management, Accounting, Finance & Economics, HRM, Marketing, Education, Engineering, Social Sciences, Computer Science, Operations, Logistics & Quality, Tourism & Hospitality etc.

You can access over 250 journals in the science, humanities, social sciences, engineering and medicine, two-thirds of which are published in partnership with learned and professional societies. OUP has the highest percentage of journals in the top 10% by impact factor.

Explore scientific research contents from more than 1500 high-quality journals published by Taylor & Francis. Journals cover all the discipline - Applied Science, Agriculture, Humanities Pure Science, Social Science, Management, Medicine, Technology, Engineering etc. Since Taylor & Francis is recognized as one of the leading publishers globally, most of the journals are indexed and have Impact Factors.

Online Textbook Access during COVID-19

Many vendors are making books, resources, and other instructional materials available online free of charge during the COVID-19 pandemic. While it is impossible to list them all, below are several that will hopefully be of use to you as you work to complete your courses online this semester!

This list is evolving and being frequently updated.

Check the publisher of your textbook to see if it is available from one of the below resources:

Springer Nature is launching a global program to support learning and teaching at higher education institutions worldwide. More than 500 e-books will be available via SpringerLink until at least the end of July.  The list of free textbooks is attached for your reference. You can copy and paste the URL on your webpage to get access to the textbooks.

Open Textbooks

If you can't find your exact book, there are many open textbooks in different subject areas. Try searching the Open Textbook Library for the course or subject (for example, Introduction to Micro Biology). The open textbook will not be exactly the same as your assigned textbook but may have the general information you need to keep up in class
